TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The market capitalization at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) declined by 0.23 percent during the week of June 30 to July 4, 2025. It fell to Rp12,070 trillion, down from Rp12,098 trillion the previous week.
The Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) also recorded a decrease. "Throughout the week, the CSPI moved by 0.47 percent and closed at 6,865.192, down from 6,897.400 the week before," said IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in a written statement on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Meanwhile, the average daily trading volume on the stock exchange increased by 12.18 percent to 19.44 billion shares, compared to 22.13 billion shares in the previous week. However, the average daily transaction frequency dropped by 12.24 percent to 1.05 million transactions from 1.19 million.
In terms of value, the average daily transaction amount also declined by 21 percent, reaching Rp10.39 trillion, down from Rp13.15 trillion. On Friday, July 4, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp465.75 billion.
"Cumulatively in 2025, foreign investors have recorded a net sell of Rp55.99 trillion," Kautsar added.
The IDX also reported that the number of capital market investors reached 17,016,329 Single Investor Identifications (SIDs) as of Thursday, July 3, 2025. This figure represents an increase of 2,144,690 SIDs since the end of 2024, when the total stood at 14,871,639. The growth has surpassed the IDX’s annual target of two million new investors.
IDX Director of Development Jeffrey Hendrik highlighted that investor growth in Indonesia remains significant.
"When compared to Indonesia’s population, the number of capital market investors is still relatively low," he stated in a written release on Friday, July 4.
Jeffrey explained that this growth is driven by digital technology advancements and the ease of access to investment services provided by securities firms, which have made investing more accessible to the public.
The IDX noted that the number of capital market investors has been rising steadily since 2020. In 2021, the figure jumped to 7.4 million SIDs, a 93 percent increase from 3.8 million in 2020.
By 2022, the number rose by another 2.8 million SIDs, or 38 percent, to 10.3 million. The upward trend continued in 2023 with an increase of 17.9 percent, or 1.9 million SIDs, reaching 12.1 million. In 2024, the number grew again by 22.2 percent, or 2.7 million SIDs, totaling 14.8 million investors.
