TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The launch schedule for Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Ultra, remains uncertain. Although several leaks suggest that the phone will be released at the end of the year, other rumors claim that the project has been canceled.
According to a report from GSM Arena on Friday, July 24, 2026, this delay rumor stems from technical constraints in the manufacturing process and component integration. Apple is reportedly still facing significant challenges in perfecting the material technology and ultra-thin chassis design of this device.
"But until we hear more definitively, from many other sources, that the iPhone Ultra has been clearly delayed, we'd advise you not to panic, and keep saving up to make sure you reach the device's very high price tag by the time pre-orders open," reads the report.
Previous reports have also revealed that the iPhone Ultra is expected to replace the Pro Max variant in the latest series of devices. The first foldable device is reportedly set to be released alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
However, some analysts still question the complexity of developing the screen and battery life for this ultra-thin device.
