TEMPO.CO, Jakarta China has implemented a 10-day (240-hour) visa-free transit policy and a 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam to Hainan.

According to ANTARA, the China National Immigration Agency announced on Thursday that citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam with ordinary passports, onward travel tickets with confirmed dates and itineraries, and transiting through China to a third country or region, can enter China without a visa through 65 airports and ports, including those in Beijing and Shanghai.

Citizens of both countries may enter Hainan Province through international ports of entry and stay visa-free for up to 30 days. While staying under the visa-free policy, visitors can engage in short-term activities such as tourism, business, trade, or visiting family.

However, people still need to apply for a visa before coming to China if they plan to work, study, or conduct journalistic reporting activities that require prior approval.

In the future, China's National Immigration Administration will coordinate policies and security, firmly maintain orderly and regulated border entry and exit, and better promote the mobility of Chinese and foreign citizens, as well as international exchanges and cooperation.

This addition increases the number of countries included in the 240-hour visa-free transit policy to 57 and in Hainan's 30-day visa-free entry policy to 61.

China has established joint visa-free agreements with 29 countries, as well as unilateral agreements offering visa-free entry to citizens of 50 countries.

Starting June 12, 2025, Indonesia will also enjoy a 10-day visa-free transit period for its citizens. In Southeast Asia, a reciprocal visa-free agreement has been implemented for citizens of Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and Singapore.

China also announced a unilateral visa-free policy for the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. China also announced a visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Uruguay.
