This well-known group of universities is known as the Ivy League. The term Ivy League originally referred to a group of eight universities in the northeastern United States (US), famous for their long history, academic reputation, and high selectivity in admitting students.

Harvard University is part of the Ivy League, along with seven other elite universities in the United States. This group symbolizes the excellence of higher education and is the main destination for students from all over the world who want to achieve the highest academic achievements.

Universities in the Ivy League are known for their rigorous entrance exams. The average admission of new students is often below seven percent. In addition, the universities also have a good reputation in areas such as academic fields, research, and a wide alumni network.

Another characteristic of Ivy League campuses is their excellence in various fields of specialization. Usually, each university offers high-quality education and a competitive learning environment. Apart from Harvard, here is a list of universities known as Ivy League:

1. Princeton University

Located in Princeton, New Jersey, this university is designated as the top Ivy League campus according to the US News and World Report. The fourth oldest university in the United States also has the rank of number one national university.

2. Yale University

This campus is ranked fifth nationally. Yale University is located in New Haven, Connecticut. It is among the top three in the Ivy League list. Yale University has 13 professional schools such as law, medicine, management, arts, and nursing.

3. University of Pennsylvania

According to US News and World Report, the campus located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is ranked fourth. The University of Pennsylvania is one of the campuses participating in the highest study abroad programs among other Ivy League institutions. It offers international study programs to nearly 50 countries around the world.

4. Cornell University

Located in Ithaca, New York, it ranks 11th in the National University Ranking. Cornell University was established in 1865. Among the Ivy League institutions, Cornell is referred to as the youngest campus.

Brown University is a private campus that allows its students to design study programs while being creative thinkers and taking intellectual risks. Academic programs open to undergraduate students consist of rigorous multidisciplinary studies in more than 80 concentrations, such as ancient Egyptian and Assyriology studies; cognitive neuroscience; and business, entrepreneurship, and organizations.

Brown University is equipped with a library that has more than 250 special collections, each of which is home to rare primary research materials. Undergraduate students have more than 500 clubs and organizations to choose from, and all first-year students live on campus.

6. Columbia University

Located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Columbia University is the oldest institution of higher education in the state of New York. Dartmouth College is the birthplace of the BASIC programming language, which later led to other computing innovations.
