TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thailand once again welcomed Southeast Asia’s largest sporting event, the 33rd SEA Games, held from December 9-20, 2025. Under the theme “Ever Forward,” organizers anticipated a surge in tourists eager to watch the competitions while exploring Thailand’s rich culture and scenic attractions.
The theme highlights the combination of sporting excitement and tourism, with Bangkok serving as the main hub of activities, supported by Chonburi, known for its stunning coastline.
Songkhla was originally slated to host 10 sports disciplines, but severe flooding prompted the relocation of these events to other venues.
Whether you’re a sports fan or a first-time visitor to Thailand, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make the most of the SEA Games 2025 experience:
How to Get Tickets for SEA Games 2025
According to Travel + Leisure Asia, tickets for the SEA Games can be purchased through the official platform. Tourists need to:
Register an account on the official LINE @SEAGAMES website.
Choose the date, sports discipline, match, and preferred venue.
Select a seat zone according to budget and viewing preference using the stadium map.
Fill in personal data accurately.
Once payment is completed, a digital ticket in the form of a QR code is issued for safe and efficient access. The full schedule of events is also available on the official website.
Navigating the Venues
Navigating the SEA Games venues efficiently is key to a successful visit. In Bangkok, downloading apps like CityMapper or Google Maps is recommended for real-time directions using the BTS Skytrain, MRT, and Airport Rail Link.
The Skytrain remains the fastest mode of transport, though stations can become crowded during peak hours, requiring extra patience.
Bangkok’s public transportation guide also highlights economical ticket options, travel passes, and safety tips for international visitors.
Meanwhile, in Chonburi, locals and tourists can rely on songthaews (shared pickup taxis) and ride-hailing services such as Grab for mobility within Pattaya and nearby areas. Inter-city buses operate throughout the day, connecting Pattaya with Bangkok for those traveling between multiple venues.
Main Venues and Attractions in Bangkok
The metropolitan area of Bangkok serves as the main hub for the SEA Games 2025, featuring iconic venues such as the Rajamangala National Stadium, which will host the opening ceremony, Suphachalasai Stadium, and Nimibutr National Indoor Stadium for indoor sports.

The full roster of venues also encompasses the RTAF Hockey Stadium, Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena, Multi-Purpose Space at the Government Complex Chaeng Watthana, along with several other supporting facilities.
