TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The globally renowned Tomorrowland music festival from Belgium is set to make its first-ever appearance in Asia. Although the full artist lineup is yet to be announced, organizers confirm that several world-famous DJs will perform.
For two decades, the iconic Tomorrowland festival, celebrated for its spectacular stage designs and stunning EDM artist lineups, has drawn music enthusiasts worldwide, including many from Asia. Now, Asian EDM fans won't need to travel all the way to Europe.
Indoor Music Festival: The Magic of Tomorrowland
The Asian expansion kicks off with "The Magic of Tomorrowland," an indoor event that differs slightly from its Belgian counterpart. It will be held at the Hero Dome, The Bund, Shanghai, on November 22, 2025. "The Magic of Tomorrowland" will feature the "Paperworld" theme, promising an immersive experience that blends music, cutting-edge visuals, and sensory storytelling.
Clinton Lau, Head of Music Festivals at Hero Esports and Head of Music at INS Land, stated that this festival will be an immersive indoor show. "You’ll experience the sound, the stage design, the storytelling — all the signature elements that define Tomorrowland — reimagined through the lens of China, and brought to life in one unforgettable space," he said, as quoted by Travel and Leisure Asia.
Dino Ying, Chairperson of Hero Esports and INS Land, added that this music festival is expected to fuse world-class music with cutting-edge technology, promote cultural tourism, and set a new global standard for immersive experiences. "We believe that The Magic of Tomorrowland will be a landmark event that helps shape the future of entertainment in Asia," he commented.
Further details regarding ticket sales and the artist lineup for "The Magic of Tomorrowland" will be announced in September 2025. Exclusive pre-sale opportunities will also be available for early registrants. Fans can pre-register through the mini-program and INS Land's WeChat app to receive limited prizes and priority access.
First Tomorrowland Festival in Asia
"The Magic of Tomorrowland" in Shanghai will pave the way for the first full-scale Tomorrowland Festival in Asia, slated for Thailand in December 2026. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), revealed that Tomorrowland organizers have chosen Chonburi Province, Thailand, as the event's location.
Chonburi was selected due to its expansive area and easy accessibility. The province is well-connected to U-Tapao International Airport and easily reachable from Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports. Tourists globally can reach Chonburi quickly and comfortably, as road access is also robust, and the area offers complete accommodations and hotels.
"Now that the venue has been selected, Thailand is seen as the most promising country in Asia. We believe everyone will support the budget, as Thailand will benefit greatly," Thapanee said, as quoted by Nation Thailand.
Tomorrowland in Belgium
Meanwhile, the original Tomorrowland in Belgium is set to open in a few weeks, running from July 18-20, 2025, and then for a second weekend from July 25-27, 2025, in Boom, Belgium, as reported by Tatler Asia. This year's Belgian festival, themed "Orbyz," is estimated to attract approximately 400,000 people from around the world.
For its winter edition in 2025, Tomorrowland will be held at the Alpe d'Huez ski resort in France, also featuring indoor stages.
