TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the congestion index in Jakarta has been decreasing. According to a survey by Tomtom, Jakarta dropped from the number one spot as the most congested city in Indonesia in 2023 to number five.
"Now, Bandung is number 1, followed by Medan, Palembang, Surabaya, and Jakarta at number 5," Pramono said at the inauguration of the B25 Transjabodetabek (Jakarta's public bus) Bekasi-Dukuh Atas route on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
He credited improved public transportation with reducing Jakarta's traffic congestion. "In the future, we will plan in more detail to address congestion," Pramono said.
Furthermore, Pramono claimed that the public transportation connectivity in Jakarta has reached 91 percent. However, he believes that the use of public transportation has not been maximized.
"I am targeting the President Director of Transjakarta, hopefully by the end of this year, we can achieve over a 31 percent increase in the use of public transportation," Pramono said.
At the same event, Pramono inaugurated the new Transjabodetabek B25 Bekasi-Dukuh Atas route. This 53-kilometer route will pass through 29 existing stops from Bekasi to Jakarta via the Becakayu Toll Road. Pramono claimed that this route would generate extraordinary public interest.
The operating hours of the Transjabodetabek Bekasi-Dukuh Atas route will be from 05:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. The fare will be Rp2,000 from 05:00 AM to 07:00 AM and Rp3,500 from 07:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
