TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that an Indonesian national who was affected by the apartment fire in Hong Kong has been discharged from the hospital. The individual is staying at the residence of the employer's relatives.
"Another citizen is currently stable and awaiting discharge from the hospital," according to a written statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, as reported by Antara.
It was reported earlier that two Indonesian citizens died in the Hong Kong fire while two others were injured. The four of them are migrant workers in the domestic sector.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said there have been no updates about the victims thus far. The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, along with the Indonesian Citizen Protection Task Force, revisited the location of the fire incident to meet with Indonesians placed in several shelters around the area to check on their conditions.
They also provided food, drinks, and other necessary items for the Indonesian citizens at the shelter locations.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong stated that they will continue to coordinate intensively with the relevant Hong Kong authorities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) organizations, and other Indonesian diaspora.
A major fire struck the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Hong Kong on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. As of Friday morning, the reported number of casualties has reached 94 people.
According to the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu stated that seven apartment blocks were affected by the fire, with three blocks appearing dark from the outside, and four others showing varying levels of damage due to the fire. More than 140 fire trucks and over 800 firefighters and paramedics were deployed, including the use of drones to monitor the area.
