TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, also known as InJourney Airports, says it is optimistic that a 50 percent reduction in airport service fees during the 2026 Christmas and New Year travel period will boost public mobility during the peak holiday season.
The discount applies to 37 airports nationwide, including Adi Soemarmo Airport in Boyolali, Central Java.
InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi said the cut in the Passenger Service Charge (PSC) will directly lower ticket prices and increase the likelihood of travelers choosing to fly.
“The 50 percent reduction in PSC will affect ticket fares and is expected to encourage more people to travel,” Pahlevi said in a press statement received by Tempo on Friday, November 28, 2025.
The fee reduction follows a directive from the Ministry of Transportation, outlined in Letter No. PR/303/1/8/MHB/2025, which mandates discounted PSC rates for the Christmas and New Year period. The PSC forms part of the total airfare passengers pay.
Adi Soemarmo Airport General Manager Hery Purwanto said the policy could help boost passenger numbers during the end-of-year holiday rush. He noted that lower costs would likely make air travel a more attractive option for the public.
“With a 50 percent reduction, we hope interest in traveling through Adi Soemarmo Airport will increase,” Hery told reporters in Solo.
The airport is also offering a 50 percent discount on aircraft landing, parking, and storage services (PJP4U) to support the aviation ecosystem. According to Hery, the discounted ticket purchases have been in effect since October 22, 2025.
The reduced-fee departure period will run from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, covering both scheduled domestic flights and additional holiday services.
