TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Customers of a brokerage firm, Mirae Asset Sekuritas, have reported alleged illegal access and fraud to the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri). The customers' legal representative, Krisna Murti, claims his client lost funds amounting to Rp71 billion.
The complainant, identified as Irman, stated that he discovered the loss of funds on October 6, 2025. Initially, at 7:34 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, Irman received a transaction notification on his account within the Mirae Asset Sekuritas application. "Our client never made that transaction," said Krisna at the Bareskrim Polri building on Friday, November 28, 2025.
According to Krisna, his client originally held a stock portfolio consisting of blue-chip shares such as BBCA, BBRI, and Telkom. However, the portfolio suddenly disappeared and shifted to shares issued by companies unknown to the client.
Allegations and Lawsuit Details
Irman immediately reported this unusual transaction to Mirae Asset Sekuritas. "Mirae claims there was no server hacking, so the indication is the occurrence of illegal access by parties who possess knowledge of customer login information," Krisna explained.
Based on this incident, Irman proceeded to report Tae Yong Shim (President Director of Mirae Asset Sekuritas), Tomi Taufan (a director), and Arishandi (a director of PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas) for alleged fraud and illegal access. Bareskrim Polri received the report under Registration Number LP/B/583/XI/2025/SPKT/BARESKRIM Polri.
The three directors of Mirae Asset Sekuritas were reported for alleged fraud and/or illegal access. In addition, the complainant also included allegations of violations of the Fund Transfer Law and the Act on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law).
Other Claimed Victims
Meanwhile, several other customers also claimed to have experienced similar situations. One customer, Leni, stated she experienced a strange transaction on November 10, 2025. "I have reported it, but they said the error was on our part," Leni recounted.
Krisna claims there are several other victims besides Irman and Leni, stating the estimated total losses for the customers exceed Rp90 billion.
Tempo has requested comments from Mirae Asset Sekuritas Corporate Secretary, Irvin Arief. However, Irvin has not yet agreed to provide a statement.
